Top Tips For Your Winter Skin Care Routine

We love Winter… enjoying cosy nights ins wrapped up in a blanket, watching Christmas films and drinking indulgent hot chocolates. As much as we love Winter, we can’t help but notice our skin starts to suffer in the colder months.  With Winter on it’s way, it’s important to look after your skin and keep hydrated from top to toe.

So, we’re here to save your skin this Winter with our top tips for your perfect winter skin care routine:

Finding the Perfect Body Moisturiser for Winter

A great moisturiser should be a staple item in everyone’s winter skin care regimen. When choosing a new body lotion for winter look for ingredients like coconut oil and shea butter. These ingredients are known for their hydrating and nourishing properties.

The I LOVE collection of body butters are perfect for helping to keep your skin hydrated and silky-soft during the cold season. Containing rich Shea Butter, Organic Coconut Oil, Aloe Vera Extract and Vitamin B5 amongst other natural skin-loving ingredients, our Signature Scents body butters are bound to help keep your skin feeling soft and rejuvenated.

Drink Water and Stay Hydrated

Looking after your skin isn’t always about what skincare products you use. In Winter, the harsh contract between the cold weather outside and the central heating indoors can seriously dehydrate your skin.

But don’t worry – by increasing your water intake, you can help counter the effects of dehydration. Make sure you’re drinking at least 2 litres of water a day. Too cold to drink an ice-cold glass of water? Stay hydrated with a glass off warm water with fresh lemon instead for a refreshing sip of hydration.

Wrap Up Warm and Moisturise Hands

If you’re heading outside to brave the winter weather, make sure you wrap up warm. Cold temperatures and harsh winds can dry out your skin. By keeping wrapped up and prepared for the cold weather, you can also help protect your skin.

With the cold weather and dry air, your hands are at risk of becoming dry and cracked. Keep your hands soft and supple with our range of hand moisturisers and creams. Just like our body butters, our range of hand lotions contain nourishing shea butter and coconut oil to really make sure they hydrate your hands and keep them soft.

Protect Lips

Chapped lips are no joke and the Winter-time means increase the likelihood of you suffering with chapped lips. As tempting as it is to lick your lips when they’re feeling dry and chapped, resist the temptation! Licking your lips can further strip the moisture from your lips, causing increased dryness.

Instead, keep lips plump and soft with a good lip balm. At I LOVE, we offer the Balmi collection of lip balms. Available in a variety of flavours from coconut to raspberry, these lip balms contain a hydrating blend of Shea Butter, Jojoba Oil and Vitamin E.
