Are you looking for ways to beat the Winter Blues?

We love the start of a brand-new year but after all the partying and excesses of the festive season, it’s no wonder that January can feel to some like the gloomiest month of the year. We have some handy hints to keep you motivated & feeling happy ?.

Here are our 5 ways to beat the Winter Blues…

Keep Active and Get Outside

A daily walk out in as much natural daylight as much as possible can be helpful for coping with the winter blues, especially at midday and on brighter days.

Keep Warm and Cosy

Being cold may make you feel more depressed, so staying warm may help to reduce the winter blues.

Start a Health Kick

Most people start some kind of health kick in January but eating healthily can help boost your mood & give you more energy. Balance your craving for carbohydrates, such as pasta and potatoes, with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables.

Spend Quality Time with Friends and Family

Most people start hibernating in January but it’s been shown that socialising is good for your mental health and helps ward off the winter blues. Make an effort to keep in touch with people you care about and accept any invitations you get to social events, even if you only go for a little while

Enjoy some Me-Time

Finally, enjoy some much needed me time by running yourself a nice warm bubble bath, lighting  some relaxing candles and pampering your skin whilst dreaming of your next holiday!
